Wineyards management

The vineyards of Domaine Parent are planted on complex soils made of clay and limestone, on marl hills of the Oxfordian age, on dolomitic limestone and red clays, especially on the Pommard appellation, which helps Pinot Noir grape variety expressing its power and elegance.

A constant concern of the Domaine is a careful selection of vine stock and a distribution between old vines (50 years and more) and more recent ones together with the will of maintaining land holdings in good health.

For some years now, vineyards management has been orientated towards a bio-dynamic and organic approach, in the respect of environment and health, to bring out the expression of each terroir in its most authentic and natural way.

Domaine Parent has been certified organic in 2013 (ECOCERT Certification).

Soils and petiole analyses are conducted regularly to moderate organic soils improvers.

Moreover, in order to master our yields, we mainly use Cordon Royat pruning, but we also use Guyot pruning, depending on the needs, the age and the lay of each plot.

No herbicide is used, and our vineyards are plowed moderately.
